Maxis Makeover: Capp Veronaville part 2

When Consort and Contessa began in earnest to build Veronaville they envisioned a legacy to rival all others. They began by creating a mystique for the family by stylizing their life to gesture toward times when family feuds were settled at the tip of a sword, people died of broken hearts and family symbols evoked their extensive history. Consort and Contessa chose the white rose and the two swans to represent their shared family line. Tybalt has been apprenticing to eventually take over the family businesses but the pressure, as well as the rivalries involved have been taking their toll. Juliet is the only Capp to enjoy the dreamland fantasy her grandparents created. She tries to understand the root of the Monty feud but does not possess the thoughtful dark moods that are typical of her family. Hermia has been the family confidant since she can remember. Her grandfather's ruthless betrayal of his old friend, her grandmother's fickle heart, the loveless marriages and her parents deaths rest heavily on her shoulders. She isn't sure of much except that sometimes she's a bit jealous of her airhead sister.

Regan and Cornwall's married for similar reasons as Contessa and Consort, but without as much passion. They share a vision for the future of Veronaville, they share a bed but little else. When they were younger they expected love to blossom but now that it has not they're not certain what's in store. Kent moved in with Regan and Cornwall because he isn't fond of living in an empty house. Mostly he spends his time in the humble guest house but in the evenings he stops by to play the piano in Regan's home.

Goneril and Albany fill their lives with duty but it is a show for those not in the family fold. The marriage offered Albany a seat on the city council, a position at Capp Realty and a chance to start a family. For Goneril it meant a chance to make her father happy. While she has still been able to have a career she feels that her marriage is a pale imitation of her parent's heated romance. Miranda has defied her family's laughable "traditions" but she finds it difficult to finally break the bonds that tie. Even her romantic sensibilities are mirrors of the past. As middle children, Hal and Desdemona find themselves thrown together frequently. But their status as middle children is the most they truly share. Ariel is the only child fortunate enough to have her own room.

Glad you liked them :) I wanted an excuse to go nuts with the art nouveau stuff I have lying around unloved in my downloads folder. Seemed like it would work with the Capps.

Your back stories for the Capps are both intriguing and heart breaking. And once again, your makeovers are just beautiful!

Glad you liked the expanded backstories. Thankfully the next few neighborhoods don't have the extreme drama of Veronaville. I think Strangetown is really the only other place premade to be totally messed up.

Well...okay, they all have the potential to be whatever but from my perspective Veronaville and Strangetown seem darkest overall.

How gorgeous! The first pictures should be a painting :)
Love the way you play The Capps!

Thanks! That statue in the first and second pictures is the primary reason I created a graveyard for the Capp family. It is probably my favorite conversion CC. Probably have a dozen shots of the statue from different angles.

As far as the Capps I started getting attached as I tried to get in their heads for the makeovers. I've never actually played them any of the times I've played premades.

Your makeovers are always so wonderful. I just love your extreme attention to detail. I also like how you have fleshed out the stories of the premades and made them more real.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the details and fleshed out stories. To a certain extent the premades all seem so similar across the hoods which I think might be why I've mostly played Pleasantview in the past and ignored the rest but I think there's quite a bit to flesh out in the other hoods to make each unique but still fall within the original parameters.

Everything looks wonderful, I love the feel you have given the hood.

Now that it is all done I'm actually really happy with how it turned out. Elegant interiors are not my strong suit so it was quite fun to try something like that. Glad you liked it!
