30 Day Sims Challenge

Day 3 - Your favorite neighborhood (EA, downloaded, or self-made) from this challenge in thesims2 community.

Cooke's Landing was a little town I started as a BACC but two seasons in I wanted to play without rules. For awhile I've been missing the places I grew up. The neighborhood became a place for nostalgia and fantasy. I think it is a bit of small town, lush landscape and fantasy remixed from places I hold in my mind's eye. It is the first neighborhood that I've fully decorated and built from the ground up (though I did not build the terrain). The inhabitants for the first generation are Maxis made sims that I remade and repurposed to seed the neighborhood. The hood is played in rotation but I haven't taken many screenshots of the families. I've kept with the idea of living off the land, growing slowly but I'm willing to pop in a few cheats to achieve some of the visual feel I want.

I'll be linking in a separate topic some photos that capture the places I have in mind when building. I didn't take shots of the houses for today's challenge. Most residents are just now getting their businesses or careers on track to make a bit of money so I haven't done much decorating. From the main hood:

Aww, thanks! It was difficult to pick just a few shots. Mostly I wanted to capture the mood of the place.

Oh, very nicely done neighborhood! I do really like how quaint the town seems. And I especially like the beach lot you showed from the main hood. It is amazing and your landscaping looks so natural. I'm quite impressed!

Love the vacation spots... they remind me of the place where my family used to go camping. Gorgeous, gorgeous shots. You have a great eye for decorating and designing these lots.

These are so nice. I *do not* have your patience for landscaping at all!
