Pleasantview Makeovers: Part One

Cooke: Julien Cooke has a temper. Not just a run of the mill low boiling point but the sort of purple pants ripping temper that erupted when Zebest Quizine rose to fame following the theft of Julien's recipe. Following the Quizine incident he marched right up to Zebest at a celebrity culinary cook-off and knocked him out in a single hit. After his court ordered stint in anger management Julien decided to start fresh. He used his remaining funds to purchase a modest trailer home in Pleasantview. He found work at the Stop and Slop drive thru where he spends most of his time wondering what to do with his life. After six months of loneliness and menial work, Julien met his neighbor the lovely widower Brandi Broke. It was not love at first sight as much as it was an awkward exchange which left Julien annoyed and Brandi confused. But now when Julien daydreams at work he finds himself thinking of Mrs Broke.

Kat: When Tara was little she fell in love with cats; she was an orphan at the time but she had a knack for living in her own world. She was adopted by Ginia Kat who discovered Tara's plight quite by accident. The two had both been caring for the same stray kitten. One day Tara walked by Ms. Kat's front yard and noticed the kitty sitting on Ginia's lap. Tara marched right up to the old lady and scolded her for stealing her cat. Ginia, who had never fancied the idea of raising a child, was intrigued by the precocious child. After learning that Tara was an orphan, Ms. Kat adopted her. Tara loved living in a house brimming with furry little creatures, often she daydreamed that when she was a wealthy writer she would buy a large estate and adopt all the stray kitties who had no homes. In the meantime, Tara is busy enough with her own cats, her garden and her stories. She writes illustrated children's stories about the little critters who live in Pleasant Hollow, a wooded wonderland filled with adventure, mystery and mischief.

Ramaswami: Priya Ramaswami loves journalism. She loves the long hours, the lifestyle and being first on the scene for a story. Which is why she couldn't wait to drop her banal job fact checking banal stories about the ten best shops in Bluewater Village. Sanjay's music career had been floundering and then he got an offer to work part time as at a music camp in Pleasantview. The gig itself wasn't a big deal for his career but the extra time he'd have to work on his album was exactly what he wanted. Priya easily found work covering city hall politics which she finds far more exciting than her work for Seasons of Bluewater. Though the couple are enjoying the new directions of their careers they look forward to the scarce moments when they can spend some quality time together.

Roseland: It was Cyd's dream to live like a monk. So when he heard a rickety old cabin in the woods bordering Pleasantview he packed up Porthos, his bike and his running shoes. This would be the beginning of his great adventure! After some moderate renovations Cyd considers his spartan shack very homey. A place to sleep. A place to paint. But nothing too fancy or opulent. Now that he's settled in he can't wait to explore the woods with Porthos. Eventually he expects he'll do some day labor but he'd be happy enough to never see another soul besides his beloved companion.

What fantastic makeovers! You have the most amazing eye for detail. I gotta say I love Cyd's cabin the most. It is so cute, and all the details, really does it for me. Like the clothes on the line, the patches of grass, the little loft bedroom... and all the rest, really :) Great job!

Thanks! Cyd's place was entirely inspired by where I grew up.

These are amazing as always. Especially love Tara's and Cyd's lots. They are perfect!

:) Tara's was my favorite because I love cats like mad, she's totally who I wanted to grow up to be: non-crazy cat lady.

I think his was the first one I madeover in Pleasantview, there was an earlier version but a few pieces of CC I found later made a huge difference.

Great stuff, once again. :) I agree with what everyone else said, it's all so wonderfully detailed and you give so much personality to these sims with the little texts you write and the way you decorate their houses. Your posts are always so inspiring. :)

Thanks! I'm always a little nervous about writing text about my sims, I've got tomes worth of background for everyone in my head but it doesn't always mesh perfectly with the gameplay.

Gorgeous! I love the personalizations and all the little details. You get to know the sims while having the tour through their homes.

They all look great! Their houses too, I think my favorite one is Julien's. It has a slightly grungy feeling to it. (And his bed looks awesome, hehe.)

I also like how you gave them some extra back stories about how they came to Pleasantview as well, it adds more depth to the game.

Thanks! Julian is my favorite male sim to play. Really glad you liked his grungy house.

I'm totally OCD about there being a reason or explanation for everything.

Everyone looks great! I really love what you did with Cyd. He has always seemed like a loner to me as well.
