Pleasantview: Community Lots

Pleasantview was the place to be during the Jazz Age. Though it has matured since those roaring days it has never been a truly sleepy town; today it remains influential politically, economically and socially. From time to time the iconic region has been used as a backdrop for numerous TV shows including a soap opera and a murder mystery series. One of the more expensive districts due to the city council's policies on growth and construction, Pleasantview is still a highly coveted area code to live in.

City Hall:

School:

Pleasant Meadows:

Pleasantview Pool & Spa: A favorite escape for Pleasantview's hardworking young professionals. They come here to swim, steam, soak, sip or Shiatsu their cares away. On the weekends this is the place to be seen in Pleasantview.

Shops At Main:

Ruby's Diner: Originally a truck stop and gas station, Skip Broke purchased and expanded the facilities to include a diner named in honor of his older sister. Around the time of his death the business was not only beginning to turn a profit but had even begun influencing business tycoons like Armand DeBateau. After Skip's death his share of the business was purchased by the King family. While only the management has changed, the buzz surrounding the venture has died down as former patrons complain that without the Brokes running the place there's just not as much soul to it. Despite local grumblings, the business remains profitable for the Kings.

Thanks! It is really fun trying to figure out how the individual neighborhoods have grown up over time and finding what sort of character they have.

Each makeover shows how much care and thought you put into them :)

:) I'm glad you like them. Usually by the time I'm cropping and saving my pictures my perfectionist side kicks in and I want to do them over. But since there is no definitive version of the maxis stuff I figure--next time ;)

Amazingly awesome, as always! Your neighbourhood looks like so much fun to play, so many interesting places to go to! I really like the idea of Ruby's Diner. :) Looking forward to more!

I knew I wanted Pleasantview to have a diner and Ruby's just kind of happened from there. Probably my favorite community lot to tinker with :)

So so so beautiful! How have I not found you before? I friended you, hope you don't mine, but I love seeing your makeovers and I don't want to miss anything.

I love how you have the TS3 city hall there, did you plunk it down on a lot and then decorate around it? I wouldn't have though to do that. Very nifty.

I haven't really posted my LJ in the simming community so I think I'm fairly under the radar. Not a problem at all with being friended :)

The city hall and the school are plunked on top of lots and decorated. I saw nepheris and some others do this so I played around and really liked the effect. I really like having the neighborhoods look less like sprawling suburbs.

Everything looks great! I especially like Ruby's Diner. The bar area looks so realistic.

The 'hood pictures look great too, I love all the colors.

Yay! I'm glad you liked the diner :) For some reason I really love creating bars--probably a desire to overuse kativip's bar set.

I'm glad you like all the colors, I debated something more muted but it seems to have worked out well as is.

Everything looks great. I think the spa might be my favorite although I really like the diner and the backstory that you made to go with it.
