Desiderata Valley: part four

Mole: Mr. Mole's heritage has given him a keen mind for the mysterious and out of the ordinary but for all his mystery and charm his day job still amounts to digging up clues at crime scenes and processing the evidence. Having grown up in Desiderata Valley being privy to some of his parents' work, John suspects that the SCIA and the military agendas may be more closely aligned than either agency is willing to admit to. He finds the politics exhausting and wonders if perhaps both groups are short changing the aliens they are so keen to preserve a diplomatic façade for. But he keeps his suspicions to himself and has begun to work outside his agency in order to find the greater truth.

Gieke: Chester has a natural curiosity that has gotten him into trouble more than a few times. He has a passionate love of science and an affinity for tinkering with mechanical objects. For awhile he lived in Bluewater Village cheating at games of chance to make ends meet. He'd even met the lovely Florence Delarosa and nearly gotten up the courage to drop in on her flower shop to chat. But fate, and John Mole, had other plans for him. Mister Mole had intervened on Chester's behalf when the owner of the Bluewater Hotel and Casino caught him counting cards. A few months later, Chester was brought into John's world of intrigue and conspiracy in Desiderata Valley.

Larson: Successful for awhile, Jodie and Jason tucked tail fleeing Bluewater Village after their "kaching" scheme turned ugly. They boarded the next boat out of the area and ended up in Desiderata Valley with their substantial earnings and little else. Now the twins are ready to lay low pursuing benign careers and leaving their scheming, partying days behind them but they're nervous about just how much Chester Gieke knew about their dealings in Bluewater Village.

Una: Locals are baffled by Natasha Una. The grilled cheese obsession, the endless hobbies and the strange company she keeps single her out. Natasha finds it easiest to ignore the local gossip and focus on finding the best way to express the underlying meaning of grilled cheese. Having read Lazlo Curious' rather unpopular book on the nature of the multiverse, Natasha became convinced that grilled cheese was the missing piece to Lazlo's puzzle. She feels that if she can capture the deeper meaning of cheese fried between two slices of bread she'll finally be able to tell a wondrous story. Until then she's more than happy to do research and spend her evenings debating the merits of a good stinky cheese with her equally eccentric friends.

It all looks great. ^^ You have such a good collection of CC, too. A lot of it I recognize, but there's a lot I'll have to try hunting down, too. Also, I REALLY like John Mole's James Bond makeover. And Chester looks awesome, too. And Natasha's grilled cheese obsession made me grin.

Let me know if there are particular bits of CC that you're curious about. I have WAY too much CC but it is organized better than in the past so for most of it I can probably figure out its origin.

I've never known what to do with Chester but after I gave him the hair he seemed sort of "Weird Al"-ish and then I had enough to give me direction.

I was actually wondering about the doors and windows you've used here, I can't recall seeing them before. Also, the lovely big pictures above/around Natasha's TV. galialady already asked about the Bonsai Tree, heheh.

I keep trying to cut down on my CC and I feel like I end up with more every time! But I really am trying to stick to things that it's likely I'll find an actual use for. It's hard, though. At least I'm very organized this time around, that really is very helpful.

Your Chester is great. I like that he has a Servo. I've always wanted to build him a lady Servo, but I never got around to it.

The doors and windows are from the Torrox build set by moune999 at MTS2: http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=163550

The paintings I'll need to look around a bit for. They're on the Adele Ramsay mesh but at the moment I'm blanking on the specifics for those recolors.

Thank you. :) I haven't come across moune999 before, lots of new stuff to check out! I do have that Adele mesh, but didn't recognize it. I saw you had some other recolours of her other paintings too, though. I'll look around a bit too now that I know what to search for. Thanks!

The style of the houses in your Desiderata valley are so great, I want my DV to look like that too! :)

Glad you like it! I get a lot of inspiration from other simmer's Uberhoods and neighborhood makeovers. Nepheris and meetme2theriver both did version of DV with a sort of tropical feel that I felt really suited the area and then I just went from there.

Your Desiderta Valley is really quite wonderful. I'm enjoying seeing what you've done with it and especially the home makeovers. You are quite talented with making the neighborhoods seem full of personality.

I'm glad you liked it! I took so many more screenshots this time around obsessing over the little details. Very happy it translated to the end result. The later Maxis 'hoods seem to repeat general themes of the earlier ones so I was trying to find the pieces that made everyone unique but "normal".

Once more, they all look amazing! Great job!

I also like your CC choice and I have lots and lots of WCIFs but, for now, I woul like to say that I love the Bonsai Tree and I would love to have it please :)

The bonsai tree is from Wood for Sims. Specifically the second Zen livingroom set. I got mine at da booty.

Feel free to ask your WCIFs. I'll do my best to answer.

I enjoyed these to the last drop!! Wow, I don't know whose makeover/remodel is my favorite, they're all so good.
Maybe John Mole and the Larson's remodel and Natasha's makeover -the last picture of John Mole was so dashing and so 007; were you meaning to give him a James Bond air?

John's a bit of a hybrid. There's some James Bond for sure but his face reminds me of Archer (from the FX show: http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/archer/ ). Personality wise I don't think he's quite as suave as Bond but he tries.

Very neat makeovers and I loved how you gave them each their little back story. Well done!

Wow, they all look great! I love how John Mole looks very Bond-esque in that last picture of him! You really stayed true to Chester and Natasha's personalities without making their homes look crowded or corny. Wonderful job!

Chester was kind of a surprise for me. I wasn't entirely sure what to do about him since I didn't want to make him the nerd stereotype but also didn't want to stray too far from there. I tried to keep Natasha's house pretty uncluttered since she'd be spending most of her cluttering time in her studio.

aaw Natasha! Gotta love her! <3

I enjoyed catching up with your posts so much! I really love your style and all the thought you give to each hood and family give them so much life. Especially liked the part of the Kims, imo, Justin is totally adopted. ;)

I do agree about the Kims. My first instinct was that Justin was adopted but I opted to leave it open ended because I think the Kims are pretty private about their personal lives so I liked leaving it an open topic for gossip.
